I can log into the Live mail account associated with it and am online doing other things.

What am I trying to do? Play Dawn of War 2 Campaign.

That, is a single player game which requires two online services to run – Steam and Games For Windows.

I will repeat – I want to play a single player version of a game and can’t as 1 of the 2 online services required to do so is bust.

This is a fundamentally flawed design from a gamers perspective. I am sure Microsoft love that they have you DRM’d up the wazzo and that you can’t re-sell the game. What they fail to remember is that gamers don’t care about the publishers perspective on these issues.

Your system is broken.

It’s ordered and now I can’t wait for September. It was suggested this was to renew the copyright by releasing it again.

In that case, I can’t wait for Hero Quest and Warhammer Quest which would be re-released in the next couple of years.

this is obviously exciting as if it is successful it means Games Workshop might look into re-releasing Hero Quest/Advanced Hero Quest/Warhammer Quest.

Speaking of Hero Quest, found a new free gaming magazine with a short article about it here – Irregular Magazine. No new information for me but good to see other people talking about it.

He had been ill for a few years and was one of the friendliest guys you could ever meet.

He taught me to play Chess when I was 5 holidaying in Aviemore. It was something which really set the seeds for my interest in games, logic, maths and of course programming.

His son lives in Australia so the funeral will be delayed until he can return.

Having met Paddy, one of the owners a while back through a friend I have been eagerly awaiting it. My pre-order was made a couple of days after they were available.

A demo is now available.Game Daily being the only host I could get to work.

A launch party is also planned for Wednesday 8th April.

Currently downloading the demo and preparing to waste a weekend. Although I mainly buy indie games, it’s the first indie game made by someone I am acquainted with.

We had been trying to find it for months and decided it may be more useful using it to track weight in the run up to Christmas than preventively on Christmas Day.

Whether we will keep using it for months is yet to be found out but it feels like when I first got the Wii. You want to play it all the time. The added bonus is that you then decide not to have that chocolate bar after lunch as it will show up on your weigh in.

An extra motivation for me is to try and get a bit fitter. I used to be really fit, then my job went from carrying heavy boxes in a stock room or running round a shop floor to sitting on my arse in front of a computer all day. At roughly the same time I injured my ankle in the infamous suitcase staircase accident. The first cut down the amount of exercise I got and the second really demotivated me to do any because my ankle hurt like hell doing most of the exercise like activities I did before. Dancing all night in a night out, jogging around, I used to walk down town and back on occasion from mums (3+miles each way).

My days of 32″ waist and 12 second 100metre runs and 5 minute miles are gone but I think accepting that has made me accept going a bit too far in the other direction. When my work moves to the new office I intend to get a bike to cycle there which should help too. There’s no way I’m cycling the route to current office considering the number of overturned lorries that happen nearby its a bloody death wish.
